Nevada U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen has joined ten other senators in signing a letter urging the Trump administration to halt enforcement actions targeting minors, calling instead for policies focused on protecting children.
The letter highlights statistics from 2025, noting that in April, more than 8,000 children age 11 or younger received removal orders, the highest monthly total in over 35 years. In the first six months of the administration, nearly 15,000 children under the age of four received deportation orders, the senators wrote, with the vast majority lacking legal representation.
The majority of the children were a part of the removal orders issued to their parents.
Earlier this month, she called for the removal of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. She also helped introduce legislation that would prohibit ICE and other federal officers from wearing masks during enforcement operations.
The letter represents a growing push among lawmakers from both parties to review and reform policies impacting minors in immigration proceedings.
