The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has released new details regarding the arrest of Christopher Lee Edwards, who is facing multiple charges related to alleged child sex crimes.
Police first announced on February 5 that they were searching for additional potential victims connected to Edwards.
According to an arrest report, the incident occurred around 2:05 p.m. on January 22, 2026, inside a Burger King restaurant. Several witnesses told police they saw Edwards using a cellphone to take photos underneath a young girl’s dress while standing close behind her family.
Investigators said the child’s mother had brought her three daughters to the restaurant when an employee alerted her that a man, later identified as Edwards, appeared to be taking inappropriate photos of one of the children.
After being confronted by an employee who yelled at him, Edwards attempted to flee the restaurant. Police say a customer chased after him and detained him outside the business. Another individual reportedly followed Edwards, took possession of his phone, and deleted numerous photographs before officers arrived.
According to the report, Edwards was held by witnesses until Metro officers took him into custody at approximately 4:15 p.m. Officers also recovered the phone for a full forensic examination.
Police charged Edward with Preparation of Materials Depicting Pornography Involving a Minor. Following his booking into the Clark County Detention Center, his charges were updated to include Capture/Distribute/Display Image of a Private Area, Child Abuse or Neglect, and Lewdness by a Person over 18 in the Presence of a Child Under 18.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives seek to determine whether there may be additional victims.
