The Storey County Sheriff’s Office says there has been a recent increase in criminal activity near the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) along USA Parkway, driven by rapid growth in the area and increased law enforcement presence.
According to the sheriff’s office, the expansion of the industrial center has led to a higher volume of calls for service. However, officials say the rise in reported crime is also tied to deputies being more proactive in identifying and addressing criminal activity.
Most recently, deputies arrested three suspects accused of stealing two semi-truck trailers from the TRI Center last week. Sparks Police found the trailers in an industrial area.
Earlier in January, deputies conducted multiple drug busts in the industrial area. In a separate incident around the same time, deputies also arrested a driver on suspicion of DUI following a hit-and-run crash.
The K9 unit was added in May 2025, while the traffic enforcement unit began operating earlier last year.
