Rosen Visits Food Pantry

U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen visited St. Vincent’s food pantry in downtown Reno on Wednesday to highlight the impact of rising food costs, federal tariffs, and cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The junior Democratic senator noted that SNAP supports millions of Americans, including children, seniors, veterans, and working families. Nearly one in six Nevadans relied on the program last year, with children representing the majority of beneficiaries.

Rosen criticized current tariffs for increasing grocery prices and said she will continue efforts to exempt food and agriculture from these measures. Her proposed “No Tariffs on Groceries Act” was blocked in the Senate earlier this month.
