Gas prices in Nevada edged down slightly over the past week, but continue to run well above the national average.
GasBuddy reports the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline at $2.76, while Nevada’s statewide average slipped one cent from last week to $3.28 per gallon. AAA, which uses a separate data collection method, places the national average higher at $2.825 and Nevada’s average at $3.348 per gallon.
Despite the modest weekly decline, Nevada drivers are still paying roughly 50 cents more per gallon than motorists nationwide. Analysts attribute the persistent gap to regional fuel supply dynamics, higher taxes and fees, and the state’s reliance on fuel shipments from California and other neighboring markets.
