Reno police are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian crash that left an 8-year-old child with major injuries Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred just after 1:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart located on Vista Knoll Parkway, according to the Reno Police Department.
Officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and located the child with serious injuries. Paramedics transported the child to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not released an update on the child’s condition.
Authorities say the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, police say speed and driver impairment do not appear to be contributing factors.
