Carson City, Nev. — Nevada is earning national recognition for its business climate, ranking among the top states for business strength in a 2025 report published by Area Development in partnership with Chmura Economics & Analytics.

According to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the report highlights Nevada’s strong performance across multiple metropolitan areas, pointing to workforce strength, economic diversification, and quality of life as key drivers of sustained growth. The analysis focuses on business workforce readiness, fiscal conditions, and adaptability across states nationwide.

State economic development officials say the findings reflect a broader national shift favoring smaller and mid-sized markets that combine affordability with a ready labor force. Las Vegas and Carson City ranked at the top of their respective categories, and Reno received an honorable mention for its diverse business growth, expanding technology sector, and clean energy.

Las Vegas ranked first among “Mega Locations,” placing in the top five for its prime workforce, growth in logistics, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing alongside its established tourism and hospitality industries. Carson City topped the list for economic strength among 30 U.S. regions and ranked first in the Mountain West.
