Pedestrian Killed in Crash

FALLON, Nev. — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on U.S. 50 near Gummow Drive in Fallon.

The crash was reported at approximately 5:57 p.m. on Jan. 6, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police. Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Authorities say the vehicle involved remained at the scene, and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

Due to the crash, westbound U.S. 50 was closed between Bottom Road and Gummow Drive. Eastbound U.S. 50 remained open, though drivers faced lane restrictions and temporary closures.
