Carson City, Nev. — Nevada is attracting more residents, according to the 2025 U-Haul Growth Index, climbing 15 spots to rank No. 20 nationwide, an increase from its No. 35 ranking in 2024.
The index, which tracks one-way U-Haul moves to measure migration trends, shows Nevada as a net-gain state. In 2025, arrivals accounted for 50.4 percent of all one-way traffic in and out of the state, while departures made up 49.6 percent.
U-Haul officials cited steady job opportunities, growth in communities such as Henderson, and continued in-migration from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado as key factors in the state’s latest ranking.
