Carson City Man Arrested for Robbing DoorDash Driver

CARSON CITY, Nev. — A 21-year-old Carson City man, Jordan La Russa, was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of felony robbery with a deadly weapon after allegedly pointing a firearm at a DoorDash delivery driver.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a Butti Way address after a delivery driver reported that a customer had pointed a gun at him over a $30.51 order. The driver explained he had delivered wings as requested and attempted to collect payment. The customer allegedly claimed he had already paid online and displayed the firearm before fleeing on foot.

Deputies contacted La Russa by phone, and during the conversation, the suspect initially claimed he had not committed a robbery and that he merely cocked the gun in compliance with Nevada’s open-carry laws. He later exited his residence and was taken into custody without incident.

K9 units assisted in tracking around the apartment complex, but initial detentions of other residents did not yield the suspect. Detectives confirmed La Russa’s identity through previous records and coordinated efforts to make the arrest.

La Russa was booked into the Carson City Detention Facility on suspicion of felony robbery with a deadly weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
