Lyon County first responders will be better equipped to keep you safe thanks to a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
This grant, totaling more than $21-thousand, was given to the Central Lyon County Fire Protection District for new extrication equipment. The donation was made possible by the support of Firehouse Subs restaurants, guests and donors.
Through the remainder of October, Firehouse Subs guests are able to make a donation at their local Firehouse Subs restaurant or online at FirstResponderMonth.org to help the Foundation assist more first responders and public safety organizations save lives. Funds raised will assist in providing lifesaving equipment and other resources to first responders and public safety organizations.
“The Foundation’s mission is to help those who put their lives on the line every day to help their communities,” Robin Peters, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Executive Director, said in a statement. “That need is greater than ever this year, which is why we’re helping the helpers by raising money to buy much-needed equipment and resources for first responders this month.”
Peters continues to urge customers to help round out October’s First Responder Month by making donations, by rounding up their purchases. Not only will your donations go directly to first responding agencies, but you can also accumulate points to receive free food.
Beyond the grants, Firehouse Subs consistently remains a well established food donor to agencies, not only firefighters and law enforcement, but in local schools and at hospitals. This fall the sub shop provided more the 400 sandwiches to the Lyon County School District.
