Former Las Vegas Assistant Principal Indicted

Authorities are investigating whether a former charter school assistant principal accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old student may have victimized additional children at other schools where he previously worked.

Pernell Graham, 42, has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges of sexual crimes against a child. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested Graham on March 23 on 15 charges related to the alleged abuse.

Graham was a physical education teacher at Cram Middle School when the alleged assaults began in 2023. He later became the assistant principal at CIVICA Nevada Career & Collegiate Academy.

The inappropriate relationship is said to have continued from June 1, 2023, until January 31, 2026. The victim is now 17 years old.

Prosecutors allege that Graham would pick the victim up from her home, take her to his house, provide her with alcohol, and then sexually abuse her. He reportedly gave the victim money to prevent her from reporting the abuse and threatened to harm her or her family if she spoke out.

Graham faces several serious charges, including three counts of sexual assault against a child under 16 years of age, three counts of lewdness with a child under 16, two counts of first-degree kidnapping of a minor, as well as one count each of sexual assault, battery by strangulation with intent to commit sexual assault, sexual assault involving certain school employees and pupils, and open or gross lewdness in the presence of a child or vulnerable person.

His bail is $350,000, with high-level electronic monitoring required if posted. Graham is prohibited from contacting the victim and all minors and must stay away from all Clark County schools. As of Wednesday, he remained in jail.

Graham taught physical education at Marc Kahre Elementary in 2020, at Brian Cram Middle School in 2021 and 2022, worked in special education at Monaco Middle School in 2023 and 2024, and has held a Nevada teaching license since 2019, which will expire in 2027.

Graham is to appear in Clark County District Court on April 28.

Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Graham or who has information about the allegations to contact the Sexual Assault Detail at 702-828-3421. “Detectives believe that due to his job and involvement with youth, there may be additional victims,” a police release stated.
