The Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner announced the U.S. Department of Labor has approved the state’s proposal to adopt Nevada’s prevailing wage rates for federal Davis-Bacon projects, standardizing pay across publicly funded construction work.
The change means employees will receive the same wages whether a project is a Nevada or federal one, while contractors will operate under a single set of rates across all public works.
The adoption is retroactive to wage rates published on October 1, 2025. Nevada will now submit updates directly to the U.S. Department of Labor to ensure changes at both levels.
As of March 31, nearly 2,000 public works projects, totaling more than $17.1 billion, are underway statewide, spanning transportation, education, water systems, and building construction.
Average journeyman wages currently range from $70.69 per hour in Northern Nevada to $88.52 in Clark County, according to the Labor Commissioner’s Office.
