Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with a deadly July 2025 shooting in southwest Las Vegas in which more than 30 rounds were fired.
Seven of the suspects are in the Clark County Detention Center, while two others, already in the custody of the Nevada Department of Corrections, have been indicted for open murder. The shooting occurred on July 9, 2025, on Coja Street in a gated community near Russell Road and Buffalo Drive.
Investigators said a white Dodge Charger with a black front bumper was circling the neighborhood before the vehicle stopped and multiple people exited, firing at the home. The sole victim, 22-year-old Michael Simmons Jr., was killed.
The suspects include Artavious Woods, Eduardo Baez, Rickey Allen, Rashid Soukesian, Johntryae Mitchell, Calvin Hicks, Jamar Holman, Kenjuan McDaniel, and Darion Headd. Trials for the suspects are to start June 1, with a preliminary hearing for Holman set for May 12.
