Nevada ranked near the top nationally for online scams and cyber fraud in 2025, according to the FBI’s latest Internet Crime Report.
State residents reported more than $302 million in losses to the Internet Crime Complaint Center last year. While Nevada ranks 18th in total dollar loss nationwide, the state jumps to third when adjusted for population, equating to more than $9.2 million lost per 100,000 residents.
Nevada also ranks third in complaint frequency, with roughly 407 reports of attempted online scams per 100,000 people. Across the country, the FBI received over 1 million complaints in 2025, with total losses exceeding $20.8 billion, a 26% increase from 2024.
In Nevada, residents filed 13,366 complaints, including 2,518 involving cryptocurrency, with losses surpassing $205 million. Victims aged 60 and older reported 3,008 complaints, resulting in losses of over $115 million. Nevada ranked 20th nationally for cryptocurrency-related fraud and 23rd for elder fraud complaints.
