A coordinated raid in Carson City led to multiple arrests Thursday on drug trafficking and weapons-related charges, including the alleged manufacturing of untraceable “ghost guns,” according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. The operation took place on March 19 at a home on Trolley Way.
Detectives used both physical and electronic surveillance to track brothers Ian Brower, 35, and Che Brower, 34, felons associated with the residence. Investigators said Ian Brower arrived at and left the home with items of interest before being arrested during a traffic stop.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ian Brower faces charges including possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl with intent to sell, illegal firearm manufacturing, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and resisting arrest.
Following the execution of the search warrant at the home, deputies arrested Che Brower on charges including manufacturing firearms, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a short-barreled rifle without a serial number, identified as a ghost gun, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.
Also arrested at the scene was 19-year-old Brendan Hubbs-Whitney, who faces charges of manufacturing firearms, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a short-barreled rifle without a serial number.
Authorities said Travis Kennett initially provided a false name before later revealing his identity. He was wanted by Parole and Probation and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
During the search, detectives seized firearm components, including handgun slides and a “ghost gun jig,” a tool used to assemble untraceable firearms without serial numbers.
All suspects were booked into the Carson City Jail following the operation, according to the sheriff’s office.
