The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) is hosting two open houses on Tuesday, March 10, to answer questions about the proposed alternatives for a new transportation corridor between Reno/Sparks and the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC).
The meetings will present the same information shared during a December 2025 public meeting, along with summaries of public comments and answers to frequently asked questions received to date.
The Northeast Connector study is examining a potential new route designed to improve regional connectivity and reduce congestion along Interstate 80. Officials say the proposed corridor would provide an alternate option for drivers traveling between the greater Reno-Sparks area and the industrial center in Storey County.
The first open house is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Storey County TRI Training Room, 1705 Peru Drive in McCarran. A second session is scheduled from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mendive Middle School, 1900 Whitewood Drive in Sparks.
Community members are also encouraged to participate in the project survey, which is available online through March 31, 2026, at rtcwashoe.com/northeast-connector. Hard copy surveys may be requested by emailing Bryan Byrne, P.E., at bbyrne@rtcwashoe.com
All survey responses will become part of the public record and are subject to disclosure under state law.
