Two people were left without a home after a fire destroyed a double-wide trailer in Wadsworth on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Pyramid Lake Fire Department, the fire began underneath the home. Residents in the area reported hearing an explosion, but firefighters were unable to confirm one had occurred.
The home was declared a total loss, according to a spokesperson for Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR). Multiple agencies responded to the blaze, including Pyramid Lake Fire, the Reno Fire Department, and Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.
The fire extended to a nearby tire pile but did not spread into the wildlands.
Firefighters are working with staff from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe to help connect the displaced residents with the American Red Cross for assistance.
