Police Searching for Wanted Man Who Fled Reno Hospital

The Reno Police Department is searching for a wanted man who fled Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center on Wednesday morning.

According to police, 29-year-old Frank Hidalgo had been arrested on felony charges and wanted by the Nevada State Police for a parole violation. Due to a pre-existing medical condition, Hidalgo was taken to the hospital for treatment before being taken to jail.

While receiving medical care, Hidalgo allegedly left the hospital. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.

Police said Hidalgo was wearing a gray ‘Nike’ hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored shorts, and no shoes, with bandages on his left leg. He is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police were called to the hospital early Wednesday after reports that the suspect got into a fight with security staff while leaving the building. Officers said the man had been receiving treatment and fled before police could take him into custody. Authorities had planned to apprehend him once he had completed treatment.

Anyone with information about Hidalgo’s whereabouts should contact the Reno Police Department’s non-emergency line at 775-334-2121. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Secret Witness by calling or texting 775-322-4900 or visiting secretwitness.com.
