Nevada Unveils New Printed Ballot Voting System

The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office, alongside county election officials, demonstrated a new statewide voting system Wednesday that will change how voters cast their ballots beginning with this year’s primary election.

The updated process allows voters to make their selections using an electronic system before receiving a full-size printed ballot to review. After confirming their choices, voters will personally place the ballot into a tabulator.

State and county officials say the change will provide a more hands-on and transparent voting experience.

Two Nevada counties piloted the printed ballot verification system during the 2024 election cycle and reported overwhelmingly positive results, according to state officials. That feedback prompted the decision to expand the program statewide.

Nevada’s primary election is June 9. The general election midterms will take place on Nov. 3.
