Ethics Complaints Filed Against Nevada Lt. Governor’s Chief of Staff

Two complaints have been filed with the Nevada Commission on Ethics alleging that Rudy Pamintuan, Chief of Staff to Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony, misused his state government position to promote a private business interest.

According to information filed with the commission, Pamintuan allegedly used his official role to arrange or facilitate a visit or event involving U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon, a federal cabinet-level official in the Trump administration. During the event, Pamintuan’s business partner allegedly demonstrated an artificial intelligence software platform connected to a charter school network where Pamintuan holds a private position.

Complainants argue the actions may have violated Nevada ethics laws by leveraging public office for personal or pecuniary gain, including promoting his affiliation with the charter school and the associated software platform to a high-level federal official.

Anthony faces separate complaints, including allegations related to the use of social media to promote a personal book, as well as reported staff changes within the office.

The Nevada Commission on Ethics will determine whether the allegations warrant further investigation or formal proceedings.
