Sparks Police are investigating an incident in which a man threw a rock at a child, striking the one-year-old.
Officers went to a home on 5th Street just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, where the child’s parents told police that the suspect, later identified as Jorge Gonzales, had been talking to himself before throwing the rock. The attack caused a cut to the back of the child’s head.
Gonzales was located a few blocks away and taken into custody. He was booked on charges of felony child abuse, battery with a deadly weapon, and disregard for the safety of a person.
