As the search continues for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the disappearance has taken on an unsettling dimension fueled not just by unanswered questions, but by the prominence of the family at the center of it—and the political gravity orbiting nearby.
Savannah Guthrie is married to Michael Feldman, a veteran Democratic political consultant whose résumé places him deep within the Clinton political orbit. Feldman served as a senior adviser and traveling chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore from 1997 to 2001, joined Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, and later co-founded Glover Park Group, a firm specializing in crisis management, reputation defense, and government affairs. The firm, renamed FGS Global, specializes in crisis management, reputation defense, and government affairs.
Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance comes as former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are preparing to give closed-door, recorded depositions before the House Oversight Committee related to its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his network. Hillary Clinton is to appear on February 26, with Bill Clinton set to follow the next day, after negotiations reportedly avoided a potential contempt vote.
Meanwhile, officials have declined to discuss whether the family’s prominence or political connections are under review as part of standard investigative procedure.
And as the investigation lingers, the central figures remain the same, and so do the questions.
An 84-year-old woman, kidnapped from her home; a daughter with one of the most powerful platforms in American media, and a son-in-law with deep ties to one of the most enduring political families in modern U.S. history. And a disappearance unfolding just as the Clintons prepare to answer questions behind closed doors, and not a single word from Feldman.
