A late-night fire inside a vacant commercial building along Commercial Row prompted a response from Reno firefighters as crews worked to extinguish the blaze and investigators began determining its cause.
The Reno Fire Department was dispatched at 10:41 p.m. Sunday to a reported structure fire at a roughly 10,000-square-foot commercial property located at 1035 Commercial Row, just west of Sutro Street.
Fire crews arrived on scene within minutes and found flames burning inside the unoccupied building. Firefighters deployed two engines and ladder trucks to ventilate the structure and knock down the fire.
A total of 32 Reno Fire Department personnel responded to the incident. There were no injuries reported.
Investigators said the cause of the fire remains undetermined, though it may be related to homeless camping activity inside the building. The investigation is ongoing.
