The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) assisted in detaining multiple individuals on Friday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting involving an occupied building in Carson City.
According to DCSO, its SWAT team helped the Carson City Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) at approximately 6:20 a.m. in executing a search warrant at a residence on Indian Drive in Douglas County. The warrant stemmed from a CCSO investigation into shots fired into an occupied dwelling.
Authorities said they served the warrant without incident. Several people were detained at the scene and interviewed by the CCSO.
The investigation is in response to a reported shooting on Thursday night in East Carson City. Residents reported hearing gunfire around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Cochise and Pheasant streets.
Officials stated that the investigation remains active. The CCSO is leading the case.
