Two Ely women are facing multiple drug-related charges following arrests announced this week by the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, the arrests are part of the first phase of an ongoing anti-drug operation targeting the sale and distribution of controlled substances in White Pine County. Authorities said the initial arrests were made on Wednesday and publicly announced on Thursday.
The individuals arrested were Debra Jo Smith, 62, and Kailey A. Buckingham, 34.
Smith faces a charge of the sale of a controlled substance.
Buckingham faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, sale of a controlled substance, and sale of a controlled substance in the presence of a child.
