Two Arrested After Drug Search

Lockwood, Nev. — The Storey County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people early Wednesday morning after deputies executed a search warrant at a Lockwood residence.

Detectives were preparing to serve the warrant around 4:44 a.m. Jan. 14 at a home linked to individuals with prior drug- and firearm-related arrests, when one of the occupants was out on release conditions and required to wear a court-ordered ankle monitor. Authorities also noted the residence has multiple security cameras.

While deputies were staging nearby, they observed April Garrison, 55, driving in the area. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Garrison allegedly failed to yield, continuing to the residence and trying to flee inside before being detained.

During the search, investigators determined Garrison had removed her ankle monitor without authorization. Deputies also located controlled substances and items consistent with the sale of narcotics inside the residence, authorities said.

Garrison and Raymond Gamboa, 63, both of Lockwood, were taken into custody following the search.

Deputies booked Garrison on multiple charges, including open or maintaining a place for the sale of controlled substances, violation of conditions of release, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, resisting a public officer, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance under 14 grams.

Gamboa faces charges including open or maintaining a place for the sale of controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance under 14 grams.
