Snowmobiler Rescued After Getting Stuck in Snow

Sierra Meadows, Cal. — A snowmobiler who became stranded in deep snow Sunday evening needed rescuing.

According to Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue (TNSAR), the rider called 9-1-1 around 6:30 p.m. after his snowmobile became stuck in another rider’s track, leaving him unable to free himself.

TNSAR deployed multiple resources to the area, including snowmobile teams, a snowcat crew, and two ski teams. Rescuers accessed the location by traveling along the 06 Road from Sierra Meadows.

Shortly after making contact, teams found that the snowmobiler had managed to free himself. The snowmobiler was uninjured and in good spirits, officials said.

All responding units cleared the area by approximately 8:30 p.m., concluding what TNSAR described as a smooth and efficient rescue operation.
