WINNEMUCCA, Nev. — A months-long investigation into child sexual abuse material (CSAM) has led to the arrest of 29-year-old Giovani Diaz of Winnemucca.
Police say detectives served a search warrant at Diaz’s home, seizing digital devices analyzed by the Nevada State Police Major Crimes Division. A forensic review confirmed the presence of CSAM, and additional warrants on online accounts uncovered a large volume of illegal images and videos.
Diaz faces 42 felony charges, including 22 counts of using or permitting a minor under 14 to produce pornography, nine counts of promoting sexual performance of a minor under 14, ten counts of using the internet to control sexual depictions of a person under 16, and one count of possession of sexual depictions of a person under 16.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
