RENO, Nev. Dec. 22, 2025 — A serious crash sent a driver and child to the hospital on Sunday morning after a vehicle slammed into a building near Silverada Boulevard and Fantastic Drive, according to the Reno Police Department.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 8:57 a.m. Police said the driver sustained life-threatening injuries. An 8-year-old child who was inside the building at the time of the crash was also injured, though the injuries were not life-threatening.
The intersection of Silverada Boulevard and Fantastic Drive was closed for several hours while investigators worked to clear the scene. Roads reopened to traffic at approximately 1 p.m.
The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation. Speed and impairment may be contributing factors.
