GARDNERVILLE RANCHOS, Nev. (Dec. 19, 2025) — Crews are responding to an apartment fire Friday afternoon in the area of Pollen Court in Gardnerville Ranchos, prompting evacuations and multiple road closures.
A spokesperson from the Northern Nevada Red Cross reported that 10 apartment units were affected by the fire and evacuated along with several other people. The Douglas County Community & Senior Center, located at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville, has been established as an evacuation site for residents affected by the fire.
Northern Nevada Red Cross responders are deploying to open a temporary evacuation center, which could transition into a shelter if needed. Volunteers will initially provide snacks and blankets while assessing further needs of displaced residents.
Several roads in the area are closed, including Pollen Court, Pit Road at Tillman Lane, and Pit Road at Short Court. Kimmerling Road and Tillman Road have reopened.
Officials are asking the public to avoid the area as emergency crews continue to respond.
