Silver Springs Woman Arrested for Kidnapping, Drug Possession

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon and a possible abduction at gunpoint at around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 29Santa Fe Trail in Stagecoach.

Responding to the call, deputies, with Major Crimes Detectives from the Investigations Division, initiated a search for the suspect vehicle. After about 90 minutes of searching, deputies located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of a Silver Springs Casino.

Both the suspect and the victim were inside the vehicle, with the victim unharmed. Also discovered were the handgun described by the caller, a small amount of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the incident, Brandy Moore, a 55-year-old resident of Silver Springs, was arrested on multiple charges, including kidnapping, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
