Edwin and I became friends following his mother and my classmate, Patsy Bettega’s death. He reach out to me through social media after reading my memorial to his mom.
He took her passing fairly hard and I don’t think he ever really recovered from the shock of it. And since I know that feeling all to well, we spent time chatting online, dealing with the pain and grief that comes with such a loss.
He was living and going to school in Phoenix, Arizona the last year of his life and the last couple of months, Edwin had been ill, in and out of the hospital, battling some sort of lung and kidney ailment. Unfortunately, he lost that fight, passing away at the age of 32, in Henderson, Nevada, October 12, 2016.
Edwin was born April 7, 1984 in Crescent City, California and is to be laid to rest next to his mom in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery. He’s survived by his sister Natasha, and uncle’s Randy and Bert Steele.
Rest in peace, my friend, and give your momma a big hug for me.
